The NAMA – Nucleus Modern Architecture in Amazonia, an thematic nucleus of Federal University of Amazonas - UFAM and gathering of artists, architects and research groups from the universities, which seeks the recognition, documentation, preservation and dissemination of Amazonian modernity. It started its activities in 2016 by organizing the I SAMA - Seminar on Modern Architecture in the Amazonia in Manaus. From then on, it organizes annual and itinerant seminars: the II SAMA in Palmas, 2017, the III SAMA in Belém, 2018 and the IV SAMA in Boa Vista, 2019.
In 2017, NAMA created the first electronic scientific journal of Architecture, Urbanism and Arts of the North Region, the Modern Amazonia Moderna Journal, designed to spread academic research of historical documents and regional historiography related to modernity and Amazonian contemporaneity. In 2018, the NAMA presents the XAMA, the first regional contemporary architecture exhibition. In 2019, NAMA shows L'Amazonie en Construction: l'architecture des fleuves volants in Paris. In 2021, NAMA shows Resilient Amazon Architecture in Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism and Arte Floresta feat Colectivo Aqua Alta by Paraguay in Manaus.
